Overview

"The lives of the queer community blend the mythic with the postmodern against the backdrop of a small, southern Appalachian town ravaged by the exploitation of the wealthy Vandermoor family. The leaders of local queer biker gangs and radical queer separatists face off against longtime enemies, a local chapter of the KKK in a politically-charged campaign of violence and retribution, and through it all, Bailey Hardin, a twenty-seven year old bartender, dreams of running away and finding a better life, one of freedom and adventure. However, when a teenage member of the community winds up pregnant with the heir to the Vandermoor dynasty's illegitimate child, Bailey is faced with choices with apocalyptic ramifications, choices that will leave the world as they've all known it nothing but cinders." -- Abstract
