Overview

"This collection is an exploration of the transition from girlhood to womanhood. By following this journey of gender through a lens closely examining forces like geography, class, religion, and lineage, there is a common thread of "who" exactly helps us grow into becoming—boyfriends who love us wrong, friends who kiss us right, and, most importantly, the women from whom we came. Mom is the first person we can ever know that we spend our entire lives trying to understand. And maybe only after we get to the other side (I'm still on my way) are we able to look back and appreciate it all for what it is: daughterhood." -- Abstract
