Overview
"Finding Home (Buscando Mi Hogar) is a personal hybrid documentary that explores the theme of identity through the experiences of Romulo, a Bolivian expatriate, and his daughter, Isabel. The film delves into the complexities of belonging and national identity as it contrasts Romulo's efforts to preserve his Bolivian heritage through music, language, and cuisine, with Isabel's quest for a sense of home amidst their global travels. By examining their differing perspectives on what it means to belong, the film seeks to redefine the concept of "home" beyond mere geography. Utilizing observational footage, collage animation, and archival material, Finding Home weaves together their personal narratives and dialogues in both Spanish and English, creating a commentary on identity and belonging in a globalized world." -- Abstract
