Overview

"Secret Ingredients is a novel detailing the experiences of three non-immigrants from different countries in Boston. Vanille is a painter from France struggling to leave her past relationships behind and create new ones. Agustin is a cook from Guatemala fighting for his dreams, dreading his girlfriend's visit to Boston. Eleanor is a journalist crumbling under her mother's pressure of being exceptional. As they struggle with different aspects of their new lives, they somehow form an undeniable yet complicated bond in the back of Julio's kitchen, where backgrounds and expectations don't matter. Until one moment changes their lives forever." --Abstract
