Overview
"Missing with Privilege is a documentary film about news disparities between missing white people and missing BIPOC. In 2021, Gabby Petito's name was everywhere. After Gabby was found, I had the opportunity to interview her mom. After that interview, I wanted to understand why some missing person cases become international news while others have no coverage. I interview David Robinson. David is Daniel Robinson's father. Daniel disappeared within weeks of Gabby yet had no news coverage for 3 months. I interviewed Bob Ward, who is a crime news reporter at Boston 25 News. I interviewed Zach Sommers to create a deeper understanding of Missing White Woman Syndrome. Zach is a criminologist and lawyer. Finally, I interviewed Heather Bish. Heather lost her sister Molly in 2000. Molly's body was recovered in 2003 but her killer was never found. Heather continues to fight for justice for Molly and other missing persons." -- Abstract
