Overview
"This project contains two scripts. DOCTOR UNDERGROUND is a hour-long medical drama that follows the women's health crisis in current day Nicaragua by navigating the dark world that is the health care system: power, money, greed, privilege, religion, and politics — nothing's off-limits. When Dr. Micheala Galiano, a highly skilled gynecologist, and woman's rights activist, finds herself stuck after trying to change the corrupt system from the inside, she goes on a journey to expose the hospital. Unfortunately, the plan backfires, leaving her unemployed. With tragedy and bodies piling up around her, she sets out to change the system from the outside. The only problem is that she stumbles across an illegal underground clinic and is forced to perform surgery on the president's daughter. With the death of the president's daughter in her hands, she will now have to figure out how to change the system while on the run. PHUCKETTE PARK is a half-hour comedy pilot that follows the life of a scamming, money-hungry, self-centered couple raising forster [sic] checks… I mean children in a trailer park. So trailer trash, that they force the children of all ages to participate and even coordinate the schemes. Think SHAMELESS meets SCHITT'S CREEK." -- Abstract
