Overview
"This fantasy novel centers around Sionnach, a cursed fox god of trade, and Maia, a deaf mage snatched from her homeland as a child. After ten years of servitude, Maia secretly learns magic and escapes onboard Sionnach's wagon. He soon discovers that her deafness makes her immune to his manipulative powers. The two set off on their journey, suspicious of one another and unable to communicate. But when Sionnach saves Maia's life, their relationship changes. Maia demands that Sionnach take her home, and he agrees on one condition: they form a trading team. To achieve this, he must learn sign language. As they journey, Maia becomes a powerful mage and an accomplished merchant, becoming bolder and gaining Sionnach's appreciation. They grow closer and fall in love. However, amidst old secrets and new betrayals, their relationship and lives aren't the only things at stake; if they fail, entire pantheons will collapse." -- Abstract
