Overview
"This novel navigates a young woman's journey to escape her traumas by literally becoming a new person. Renee Dawson creates personality after personality to hide behind until there's nowhere left to go. The story is split between the viewpoints of Renee who has lost her younger sister in a tragic accident, and Amari who is the first personality that Renee creates. These two women struggle with loss, relationships, and a disrupted sense of self. Renee, who defined herself in relation to her sister, is forced back into a new chaotic with her brother. Amari tries to separate herself from Renee's actions and establish herself as her own person. In the end, they both find that the choices they make have consequences that will follow them for the rest of their lives." -- Abstract
