Overview

"This is a novel about what it means to be a daughter, and how relationships can morph and change with trauma. This novel is told from two points of view: the first is of a mother who is born during the Vietnam War and how she escapes from the country and immigrates to the United States as a refugee. The second is of her daughter, a second generation Asian American who must come to terms with her identity and her mother’s past when her mother passes away." -- Abstract
