Overview

"The Scattering Winds is a high fantasy novel, and though it stands alone, it is also the first in a planned trilogy called The Iean Cycle. There are Avrathians (bird-like people), Lacertians (snake-like people), Groukis, Humans, and yes, Gnomes. A human city is sacked and that sets in motion a series of events. We follow three primary characters in third person omniscient point-of-view: Xobb, a human warrior; Haro, an Avrathian shifter, and Cinder, a human woman with powers she doesn't know she has. Lacertians abduct Cinder because they think her death will bring back their vanished goddess. Meanwhile Avrathian shifters had tried to protect her. She is important to humans. There's a race against time. There is always a race against time. There are sorcerers, magical stones, sentient mountains, and medics that end up stranded on an island naked. There is violence and confusion." -- Abstract
