Overview
"This is a novel about escapism, in conversation with other fantasy fiction and mythology. While exploring the ways in which imagination and fantasy can be valuable, the story also hints at darker and more dangerous detachments from reality. As this work is inspired by works such as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Little Prince and His Dark Materials I intended this story to be approachable to younger readers. At the same time this work will also be exploring some heavier topics and drawing on some aspects of cosmic horror. I have always had a soft spot for stories about kids learning they have supernatural powers and I intend for the two protagonists of this story to learn from each other's worldviews as they grow as heroes and as people." -- Abstract
