Overview

"The inspiration behind Bloodlust came from my ever-growing love of the vampire genre. While I almost never get tired of seeing the same types of vampires over and over again, I am also always on the hunt for new interpretations of the monster and how they fit into our world. The more the zeitgeist changes, the more we can look back in time and see how things have stayed the same. Since they have eternal life and often live through centuries, vampires are perfect tools of reflection on the past. I am also intrigued by the cult-like mentality of some modern extremist groups and was inspired to dissect their behavior patterns through the perspective of a vampire coven. While the vampiric lore may add some supernatural levity, this novel is, first and foremost, a story of a woman struggling with finding the fine line between painful pleasure and abuse." -- Abstract
