Overview

"Be Safe Out There is a feature film script that follows an unreliable Black woman scarred by a devastating childhood trauma, who reluctantly agrees to babysit her estranged older sister's children when her sister's boyfriend wants to propose on Halloween. Barely able to tolerate her two nieces and nephew, she shepherds the children from the Westchester suburbs into New York City, where they unsuspectingly find themselves targeted by multiple contract killers and are forced to detour across the five boroughs to make it home safely. As the ghoulish holiday and their race intersect to keep them isolated and disbelieved by those around them – they face off against a series of macabre murderers and must work together to survive the night. As the guns and knives come out and the body count ratchets up, the broken family confronts their personal demons and discovers that prejudice is the scariest threat of all." --Abstract
