Overview
"Gender disparities persist in sports, impacting athletes across all levels, from collegiate to professional. Despite the popularity of women's college sports, opportunities for female athletes at the professional level remain limited, comprising only 8% of competitive sports. However, there is potential for growth and investment in women's sports, facilitated by emerging platforms like streaming services and social media. The transition from college sports to post-collegiate careers poses significant challenges for female athletes, exacerbated by the tight-knit nature of the sports industry, which offers limited opportunities, especially for women. Many female college athletes aspire to continue their sports careers post-graduation but lack the necessary support and guidance. This research aims to empower female athletes by providing them with the tools and resources to confidently navigate their post-college career options. Through an exploration of barriers, leveraging unique skills, and identifying effective support systems, this study offers actionable insights to enhance the prospects of female athletes in the sports industry." --Abstract
