Overview

"Fifteen-year-old Maria Reyes killed a man to save her family.. Haunted by nightmares, she attends a boarding school for troubled young mages. At school she meets Thomas, a ghost trapped halfway to godhood who claims to hate his worshippers and the blood they spill. He says he has a plan to end the war between his people and hers. She's skeptical, but the leaders on her own side seem more interested in winning the war, at whatever cost, than ending the bloodshed. She must decide who to trust and what she is willing to risk on a dead man's gamble." -- Abstract
