Overview

"It's 1991 and Melinda's having a hell of a year. Her husband's been murdered, and she's about to find out she's descended from space-aliens. Looking for a place to get her feet under her, she and her son Ben move to Danville, Texas and the house she inherited from her uncle, but the charming country veneer of the place hides many secrets. She doesn't know that an alien entity was marooned there when its ship crashed in the 1800s, and her family and other residents are descendants of alien interbreeding and genetic experiments, giving them abilities that she never knew they had. Ben has been endowed with extraordinary alien abilities, and the entity that inhabits Pastor Williams, the leader of the community, will stop at nothing—including kidnapping and murder—to assimilate Ben and use his incredible gift to send distress signal to its kind." -- Abstract
