Overview
"Concrete's cooking in Opelousas, Louisiana and JOSELINE (16) desperately wants to forget about her troubles at home with a negligent mother and have the best Summer of her life with her two best-friends RODGER (15) and MIRACLE JOY (15). After what seems like a typical day at work cooking pizzas and selling beer to the trashy locals at the “great value” amusement park, the three friends get an alert that the park is on lockdown. Through the walkie talkie communication system they are alerted there's a killer threat on the grounds. Being the young, stupid, yet clever teens they are, they ignore the instructions to shelter in place and decide to investigate. The group discovers that there is a GATOR MONSTER mutated by the toxic waste of environmental racism on the loose with blood on its hands. They rush back to the safety of their stand to fashion weapons with found objects and join forces with the older yet STUPIDER ADULTS who work in the park. After multiple battles through mirrored halls and heart pumping races up steep roller coasters, the kids realize that the monster is actually a fellow amusement worker named LARRY (56) who hasn't shown up to work in a few days. As Larry begs the kids to put him out of the misery of being half-man half-gator he is shot by cops who show up long after they are needed. The kids use their wit to outsmart the monster, save themselves and their job while they each overcome challenges of the mind, body and spirit. Swamp Pizza is a coming of age adventure comedy that could be the illegitimate child of Adventureland and The Breakfast Club." -- Abstract
