Overview

"THIS SIDE OF RYE is a six-part episodic limited series designed for streaming platforms, mostly aligning with Amazon Studios catalogue of content. NATALIE (35) has lost her job. This wasn't just your run of the mill midthirties "it pays the bills" sort of job. No. This was Natalie's dream job. The job she had worked her entire life for. No, not a job. This was her career, her calling. Ever since she picked up Ian Flemings' Casino Royal her mind was made up. Natalie was going to be a Spy. And then, one fateful night, on one silly little routine mission, Natalie's career came to a screeching halt. Issued a leave of absence and without an income to sustain her London lifestyle, Natalie begrudgingly makes the decision to move home with her parents and back to their medieval seaside town of Rye, East Sussex. It'll be fine, she thinks. It's only temporary, she says. Her over bearing and hokey parents, GENE (60s) and MARSHA (60s), are thrilled to say the least. Their little girl turned super spy is finally coming home! In this series, denial, anger, bargaining, depression will all play their part as Natalie begins to cope with her new reality. The nosey yet charming characters within the town will rally with Natalie's rehabilitation but when she receives an anonymous letter suggesting she was framed, acceptance turns into revenge. The only issue she has while hunting down her enemies is that, dinners at six and curfew's no later than eleven. This limited series is part Flea Bag, part Killing Eve, part Notting Hill. Yes, you read that correctly. Self-destruction, fierce espionage, and Julia Roberts" -- Abstract
