Overview

"Financial consultant ASIA JONES (27, Black American female) and Big Pharma heir JASON KWON (30, Korean male) engagement is running smoothly. Asia's family likes Jason well enough, and they have a good life together in LA. However, Jason receives a call from his mother SUSAN (50s, Korean female) that his father PHILIP (50s, Korean male) had a car accident and is in critical condition, prompting Jason to return home after four years abroad. It wouldn't be so bad, except Jason's parents have no idea he's dating a Black woman! After arriving in Korea, Asia learns that marrying Jason wouldn't be as easy as she thought. Asia is hurt when Susan blatantly rejects their engagement. With his father's life at risk, Jason decides to have a wedding in Korea in a month so his dad can fulfill his wish to see Jason get married. Asia and Jason are torn as they struggle to win over Susan, adjust to newfound prejudice towards their relationship and as they struggle to stay together for the quickly approaching wedding. They must work together to win over Susan, navigate their relationship in a new culture and make it down the aisle." -- Abstract
