Overview

"'Ode to a Siren' is a romantic dramedy film about a young Southern woman who loses her virginity to a married man. 'Ode to a Siren' in its purest form, is also a coming of age film that tells the story of a star-crossed and painful affair, from the "other woman's" perspective. As ELLE (21) a young Christian woman finds herself embroiled in a toxic affair that she has less control of than she realizes, Elle must find the strength within herself to reconcile her two internal “identities ”--madonna, and whore. 'Ode to a Siren' begins as a love story, introducing our lovers, their connection, and the greater love triangle as a whole, but when Elle finds herself betrayed, alone and lost, the effects of the affair start to show. The film seeks to focus not only on the complicated truths of cultural and personal identity, love, loss, connection, attachment, belief, but also on the psychological effects relationships--both healthy and otherwise--have on their participants." -- Abstract
