Overview

"Woman Scorned is an action romantic comedy about a highly-trained government operative who agrees to be a bridesmaid in her sister's wedding in order to finally get a shot at repairing their relationship. The script combines spy thriller and rom com elements to highlight the toxic relationship tropes that exist in films in both genres. As the lead character navigates dangerous circumstances, she's also forced to confront her part in the destruction of her relationships. Inspired by my rabid passion for action films, but my ongoing frustration that so few of them focus on strong female characters, this script allowed me the abililty to manifest the exceptional woman we all have inside of us. Having written a short action piece, and a family comedy screenplay during the program, this script brought together learnings from both genres into one project." -- Abstract
