Overview
"Theater arts have long been incorporated into K-12 education, not simply as a tool to teach kids how to perform a monologue or design a set, but to teach valuable social and emotional skills. However, theater arts are less often included in early education settings for use with younger, preschool-age students. This project examines the usefulness of incorporating theater arts into an early education setting to encourage social and emotional growth and empathy development. It gives an example of an original four-week integrated theater curriculum designed with pre-K social and emotional learning standards in mind, and it examines the outcomes of the implementation of this curriculum." -- Abstract
