Overview

"The position of artistic director is one that is much admired but little discussed. For my thesis project, I discuss the uncharted process and challenges in the first four months of being the new Artistic Director of the Lyric Stage Company of Boston. Topics covered include building relationships with a board and the audience, and how those relationships were then tested, strained, and strengthened in the early days of a global pandemic (COVID-19). An article accompanies the paper, chronicling the pandemic and its day-by-day effect on the the Lyric Stage and the theatre community." -- Abstract
