Overview

"The aim of this thesis was to create a work of popular fiction in the horror genre. This thesis contains a section of a novel set in the rural New York town of Red Creek. A ten-year old girl named Laura lives with her mother, who is possessed by menacing ghosts. The mother, colloquially known as Mama, threatens Laura and keeps her isolated within their house that borders a vast rail yard. Laura, desperate to escape, explores the rail yard, dreaming of finding a way out. She meets a transient train hopper named Sesame in the yard who carries inside of him a demonic entity that Sesame must satisfy by feeding on the flesh of humans. Laura catches Sesame in this horrific act, and through this encounter, they make a pact to keep each other's secret and escape from Red Creek together, but first must each battle their own demons." -- Abstract
