Overview
"Alex Lucent and her best friend Jade Collins never imagined they weren't human—even with Alex's history of punching out people twice her size. But on the last day of junior year, their worlds change—literally. After narrowly escaping a kidnapping, the girls are brought to L'Autre Monde, a world home to Magics: superior beings who can each perform a unique magical skill. They learn the world is at war, and they are destined to save it. Despite their disbelief, the best friends agree to train alongside the top soldiers of the Royal Army. But as Alex witnesses the Rebellion's strength and struggles to discover her own Power, she realizes winning this war will be far from easy. Alex must dismantle the belief she's the screw up the Human World convinced her she is and embrace the power within her in order to become the hero L'Autre Monde needs." -- Abstract
