Oversize clippings and newspapers
Scope and Contents
This series contains a massive number of newspaper clippings related to Gilbert and Sullivan. Most items were been clipped out of newspaper or magazine pages, and pasted on to sheets of heavy paper. Many do not have a date or any identification, either because none was written down, or because they have separated from their original pasted location. The items are loosely organized by subject when possible to identify. Incomplete articles, unidentified portraits or drawings, and unrelated clippings have been placed together in Subseries J: Miscellaneous. This series also contains loose pages from "Fun", where W.S. Gilbert's Bab Ballads were first published, ranging from 1864-1882.
