Now That's Awesome, 2000
Scope and Contents
The series documents popular radio series that were broadcast during the early 1930s through the late 1950s, and the popular forms of stand-up and improvisational comedy of the mid 20th and early 21st centuries. Highlights are recordings of "Our Miss Brooks," in which Eve Arden portrays a sarcastic high school English teacher; recordings by the Monty Python comedy troupe, who made significant contributions to American comedy and popular culture; "The Bickersons," a radio situation comedy featuring a married couple similar to the Bundy's From "Married With Children;" and "Barrel Fever and Other Stories" by David Sedaris, which contains "The SantaLand Diaries." There is duplication of material contained in this series and in Series 1.
