When You're in Love the Whole World Is Jewish, 1966

The series includes two albums by Allan Sherman, a comedy writer and television producer who would find popularity and success as a parody song writer. Sherman reworked popular folk songs and infused them with references to popular culture and Jewish humor. My Son, the Folk Singer and My Son, the Celebrity were recorded live at Hollywood parties and released with the introduction "Allan Sherman's mother presents." The series also contains two records starring the "You Don't Have to be Jewish" Players (whose notable members include Lou Jacobi, Bob McFadden and Betty Walker) and produced by Bob Booker and George Foster. You Don't Have to be Jewish and When You're in Love the Whole World is Jewish poked fun at the absurdities of Jewish life in America. The albums are examples of classic Jewish and Borscht Belt humor. Both albums were recorded in studio with a live audience. Al Tijuana and his Jewish Brass is a spoof comedy album with Lou Jacobi acting as the title emcee of a band that played popular songs of the day.
