The First Family (Vol. I), 1962
Scope and Contents
The series contains records which depict some aspect of politics in the 1960s. The record Best of Washington Humor was created by television anchorman Chet Huntley and released shortly after John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960. The record consists of off-guard moments of politicians' speeches; including those of Barry Goldwater, Adlai E. Stevenson and Sergeant Shriver. Continuing with Kennedy-related comedy is the two-volume widely successful record The First Family, which pokes gentle fun at the life of the Kennedy family in the White House. Also included is the political allegory comedy The Contest, a crepitation contest between Lord Windersmeer and Paul Boomer.
