Scope and Contents
A virtual and in-person event featuring faculty and student artists produced by the Department of Communication Studies in collaboration with Emerson's Center for Comedic Arts. Welcome by Dr. Gregory Payne, Chair, Communication Studies Department, and Martie Cook, founder and Professor of The Center for Comedic Arts; introductions by Ken Grout, Executive-in-Residence, Oral Presentation of Literature Instructor, Communication Studies Department; multiple musical performances by Professor Nejem Raheem; personal narrative "We will make this" written and performed by Ranqiu "Sunny" Xia; between performances Dr. Phillip Glenn gave "laughter commentaries;" selection from the short story "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" written by Mark Twain performed by Matt McMahan; "Toy Villain" and "Interpreter" two original poems written and performed by Brenna McCormick; a performance by the Twinkle Players; poem "To His Coy Mistress" written by by Andrew Marvell performed by Rocco Polanco and Samantha Parker; and personal narrative "Home" written and performed by Kelan Martinez.
