"Drums of Tahiti" (Script), 1953
Scope and Contents
This collection includes: photographs, contracts, scripts, sheet music, publicity publications, posters, professional correspondence, 16mm films, VHS tapes, DVDs, costumes/apparel.
Sylvia Lewis' Film Productions Sub-Series is almost entirely made up of notated scripts, publicity publications, and oversized posters for films. The included notated scripts highlight Sylvia's roles both as an actress in the various productions as well as choreographer for many of the productions. The records concerning Sylvia's time on "Where's Raymond?" are more complete, since her role on that show was so prominent. With the records for "Where's Raymond?" are publicity publications, professional correspondence, photographs, and records documenting Sylvia's professional relationship with Ray Bolger. Further records documenting the memorial documentary "More Than a Scarecrow" are forthcoming, and those records will be connected to the folders already documenting her professional relationship with Ray Bolger.
Oversized items include posters for films featuring Sylvia, and there is a blue jacket that was given to Sylvia for her choreography work with "Hearts of the West" (1975).
There are many Audio/Visual records that go with this sub-series, featuring VHS tapes, full reel-to-reel film, DVDs, negatives, audiodiscs, and film tape. There is a full box containing the Audio/Visual records for "More Than a Scarecrow". The Audio/Visual records include full-length films as well as recordings of various rehearsals and sound tests.
