Reunion, 1973

This series mainly consists of work created by David Mamet. Included are original plays and screenplays, as well as an essay, a speech address, and two articles on him. After meeting Betsy Carpenter in Chicago at the Goodman Theater, the two established a working relationship. This series includes a few of the works the two collaborated on. Carpenter was the assistant director for The Woods at the St. Nicholas Theater and the Second Stage New York. Carpenter produced the world premiere of the ten-minute play Dodge for the Boston Theater Marathon in 1999.

Included in this series is Mamet’s first play Lakeboat, as well as his first successful film as a screenwriter The Untouchables. This series contains are award nominated works, as well as work that became the foundation of a presentation in another art form. For instance, the Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony nominated play included in this series Glengarry Glenn Ross became a 1992 and film starring Al Pacino and Alec Baldwin. The screenplay for Hoffa which was a 1992 film starring Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito was based off of a play of the same title in this series. The plays Lakeboat, Olena, and Homicide, which are included in this series later, became films in 2002, 1994, and 1991 respectively. Included in this series is the Academy Award nominated screenplay The Verdict that stared Paul Newman.
